The sounds of laughter and campers splashing around Flint Creek filled the Colcord, Oklahoma air. The sun was beaming down providing warmth and serotonin. Bees buzzed around sugary melted icees at the creek front but just 30 feet over there was something sweeter. The cabin of locust was shouting, running and dancing with great jubilation. A camper had come to know Christ. A 14-year-old girl had stepped out of darkness and into marvelous light. New life was found on that Thursday afternoon. Her counselors were not only ecstatic for their camper but they were ecstatic for their new sister in Christ. Paige Orr was one of her counselors that week and Orr could not contain her excitement. After hugging her camper on the deck of their cabin Orr loudly exclaimed to the rest of camp, “My camper just accepted Christ!” Cheers erupted from the crowd that was in ear shot. Tears were rolling down the new believers face. Tears of joy. Tears of relief. Tears of shedding the old and welcoming in the new. Tears of chains breaking and walls crumbling down. Tears of Victory! What a victorious and impactful day that was.
